Drying: The incense is spread out on wooden trays and remains in a shaded, well-ventilated area for several days until it dries naturally and is ready to be packaged.

How to Properly Cense Your Home: The Steps and the Prayer

The time of censing at home is a small ritual that sanctifies our daily life. To perform it correctly and with the proper reverence, we follow these simple steps:

1. The Preparation

Place the charcoal on the designated spot inside the censer. Light the charcoal, holding it carefully with a pair of tongs. Wait a few seconds until it ignites thoroughly and stops sparking.

2. Placing the Incense

Once the charcoal has begun to turn slightly white, place 2–3 grains of Athonite incense on top of it. If placed too early, while the charcoal is still black and burning intensely, the incense will burn out quickly and release a scorched smell instead of its pure aroma.

3. The Sign of the Cross and the Prayer

Before beginning, hold the censer and make the sign of the Cross three times, softly reciting the specific prayer of the incense:

"Incense do we offer unto Thee, O Christ our God, as an odor of spiritual fragrance; which do Thou receive upon Your heavenly Altar, and send down upon us in return the grace of Your All-Holy Spirit."

4. Moving Through the House
