Today, the Church vividly presents to us the tangible result and mature fruits of this divine visitation: all the Saints, known and unknown, who believed, were sanctified, martyred, lived ascetically, and attained theosis (deification) through the Life-Giving Grace of the Comforter.

The Deep Theological Meaning of the Feast: Why Does the Church Honor Them All Together?

The establishment of the Sunday of All Saints is rooted in three very specific, essential, and dogmatic reasons, which we are called to reflect upon:

1. The Living Proof of Divine Grace: This feast was established to clearly demonstrate that the descent of the Holy Spirit was not just an isolated historical event that once took place in the Upper Room of Jerusalem, but a continuous, living, and transformative reality. The Saints of the Church, men, women, and children from every corner of the earth are the undeniable witnesses of this transformation. They constitute the "Church Triumphant" in Heaven, the great spiritual family that ceaselessly intercedes for us who are still struggling on earth (in the "Church Militant").
